Classic Ivy leaf brooch by Stuart Nye of North Carolina. The Nye company has been producing hand-made jewelery based on nature since 1933. This design appears in their cataloge as "maple leaf" , though it resembles an American sycamore or plane tree also. The lobed and serrated leaf is gently convex, with a pinched and folded stem. Hand-incised lines indicate ribs and veins. The back is stamped Nye Sterling, with the name in the company's cloverleaf logo.
